I adopted this recipe from Spicy Bangla, and let me just tell you these are some of the most decadent brownies I've ever eaten. The recipe is so simple that my 15 year old sister, who has never stepped foot in the kitchen (except for midnight snacking, of course), was able to perfect them on her first try!
Ingredients:
1 cup dark chocolate (I use Morde's and I love it!)
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup white sugar - powdered
3/4 cup brown sugar - powdered
3 medium eggs
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
Optional add-ins:
1/2 cup walnuts (a personal favourite)
1/2 cup chocolate chips (you might want to cut down on the powdered sugar for this one)
Method:
- Grease a 7x7 metal baking pan and line with parchment paper
- Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius
- Using a double boiler method, whisk together chopped dark chocolate and butter in a bowl over simmering water
- After the chocolate melts completely, take it off the heat and allow it to cool
- In a bowl, combine both sugars and whisk in one egg at a time
- When well combined, add in salt, vanilla essence, and melted chocolate
- Sift the flour, baking soda, and cocoa powder into the mixture and fold using a spatula
- Pour the batter into your prepared baking pan and tap gently to evenly spread the mixture
- Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 30-35 minutes
